This project needs the support of the community. We are asking individuals, families, friends of the YMCA of Frederick County, and residents of Urbana and the surrounding area to contribute. Select corporations and foundations will also be asked to support the project.
How much is needed?
The success of this project depends on the Frederick community's charitable giving. The campaign goal is $22 million, and we ask that you give as much as you are comfortable with. Your gift can be payable over the next three to five years.
Are securities an acceptable gift?
The YMCA of Frederick County is able to receive stock directly. This option may increase your giving capabilities substantially. The Y does not speculate on stock, so it will be sold as soon as it's received. Please check with your tax professional to find out how you may benefit from this type of giving.
Be A Campaign Volunteer
A project of this magnitude requires many people to accomplish the goal. If you are interested in serving on one of the committees listed below, please contact the Development Office at the Y.
Inner Family Gifts
Committee members are charged with coordinating donations from Y volunteers and staff.
Lead Gifts committee members work with community partners and major donors to secure gifts of $100k or more.
Members of the Major Gifts committee aim to elicit donations between $10k and $100k.
This committee will concentrate on gifts below $10k from Y members and the general public.
Grants and Foundations
Committee members will work to research and gain funding from available grants and foundations.
